Independence Day16th of December Kazakhstan people celebrated national holiday Independent day. This day has the special meaning for the residents of Republic of Kazakhstan, it brings new history of our country. This holiday is 16 years old, now it becomes the real birthday of strong, nice, free and wealthy country!
At holidays Entertainment Center “Duman” pleasantly met their visitors. Traditionally there were made reductions for visit of Oceanarium and 3D motion-theater from 30% to 35%.
Certainly not only adults, but children could enjoy pastime. Entertainment actions for all ages were organized in dome area. Babies with clowns played in lovely game “Joyful starts”. For elder children organizators suggested competitions “Mini tournament on sport games”, “I am champion”. After spent efforts in sport and intellectual contests, winners of which received good prices, small guests were offered to see kind and instructive fairy-tales “Magician “Oh”!”, “Bahram Inheritance”, “Aldar Kose”.
Without shadow of a doubt, elder generation also got the pleasure of holiday. For elder visitors there were prepared concert program “My Motherland is Kazakhstan”.
At holidays “Duman” was visited by 9600 people, including 5873 people who visited their lovely Oceanarium and 1516 people visited 3D motion-theater.

Hurrah! Holidays!
“Hurrah! Holidays!” This exclamation can be heard coming from pupils in an anticipation of a long-awaited period. It is already just around the corner. Pupils beforehand plan their pastime. Some of them will usefully spend the time in libraries discovering something new, others will have fun, visit cinemas and attractions with friends.
Entertainment Center “Duman” unites all entertainments to different taste: Oceanarium will present different representatives of ichthyofauna; 3D motion- theater will make visitor the hero of film plot; babies will feel comfort and funny at attractions for them; small girls will find dresses for themselves and their favourite dolls in fashion shops; boys will be offered to choose variety of cars and weapons; and delicious dishes of food enterprises will not remain anybody indifferent. These days children can take part in programs organized at the central dome area.

Day of Greybeards!
Entertainment Center “Duman” respects and grants honours to greybeards. Center invites them with pleasure for different holidays and welcomes elder generation from the first days of opening.
Annually at International Day of Greybeards Entertainment Center “Duman” tries to create holiday atmosphere for elder generation.
This year staff of “Duman” invited greybeards for holiday, where they not only got the pleasure, but had nice time with friends and fellow creatures.
2-3 of October traditionally pensioners and accompanied them people entered to the center free, and ticket for Oceanarium cost only 100 tenge. Pensioners visited Oceanarium were invited to proceed pastime with tea drinking in café “Tornado”.
2 of October at 12: 30 the concert “Moi goda-moe bogatstvo” (“My age- is my wealth”) was organized for visitors, there were favourite songs, dance, acrobat performance and instrumental compositions.

“ASTANA-2007 ”
Entertainment Center “Duman” many time was the sponsor of different contests and festivals organized in Astana such as republic contest of young singers “Zhas kanat”, “Delpheiskie egry”, Open capital contest of beauty and talent “Balausa”, and annual International contest of Kazakh song “Astana”.
At September starts the Fifth International contest “Astana-2007”. Contest participants, representatives of different countries, were offered to see the capital and its sightseeing. According to Marat Ergaliev’s words, organizer of the contest, traditionally participants’ acquaintance with capital concludes by unique object of Republic of Kazakhstan - Entertainment Center “Duman”. Visit of center always leads to good emotions and inspires the participants. Entertainment Center and contest “Astana” have warm relationships, “Duman” every year makes the sponsor support to international contest. At the center often conducted casting of lots in unusual forms.
This year “Duman” pleasantly welcomed participants of fifth international contest. Participants had the free possibility to visit Entertainment Center “Duman”, see its points of interest, including Oceanarium, and appreciate art of cookery of “Duman” cooks. That day they prepared especially delicious dinner.
Every year Entertainment Center “Duman” sets its own prize for participants. This year the special prize is pecuniary premium at the rate of 1000 (thousand) dollar presented by General director Patima Turalievna Matzhanova to participant of contest from Sri Lanka Natasha by name.

Sea turtle!
Turtles since olden times settled in sea and ocean. They appeared about 200 mln years ago, and only later on turned out to be in water.
Today these reptiles reached Kazakhstan. June, 2007 Oceanarium of Entertainment Center “Duman” acquired small green turtles or the second name soup turtles, which are listed in the Red Book.
Green sea turtle is the biggest of all sea turtle species. The length of its shell is 70 up to 150 cm, body weight is about 200 kg. But sometimes they can reach the giants’ size with body weight up to 450 kg!
The life of these turtles is wonderful. They make long migrations overcoming hundreds of miles through ocean to the place they we were born. Traveling they had the great aim to give the birth. Finishing the swimming green turtle lays up to 200 eggs on land.
The second name “soup turtle” they got due to their pleasant taste. To use turtles in food poachers depopulate hundreds of them. By no means, it is very cruel treatment towards innocent animals, it makes great damage to species, thus many countries passed the law protecting this species.

Day of Constitution of Republic of Kazakhstan!
Collective of Entertainment Center “Duman” congratulated the nations of Kazakhstan on Day of Constitution of Republic of Kazakhstan! That great day for state and nations of Kazakhstan staff of “ Duman” celebrated with guests visited center that day.
“Duman” prepared for its guests nice surprises. They are entertainment programs and 50% discount for visiting Oceanarium and 3d motion- theater, and gifts.
Concert- entertainment programs carried out during three days under dome of Entertainment Center “Duman”, they are following: entertainment program “Joyful starts” (on Kazakh and Russian languages), concert program “Menin Kazakhstanym”, performance of puppet-show (on Kazakh and Russian languages), contests, clowns’ show and focus.
In view of Day of Constitution of Republic of Kazakhstan Entertainment Center “Duman
conducted the action. “Buy and get YOUR GIFT!” Action condition is following: visiting Oceanarium, 3d- motion-theater, play ground “Bobekzhai”, café or shop of EC “Duman” 30-31st of August, 2007 visitors should take cash voucher that confirm their purchase. Visit of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
May 29, 2007 President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov visited Entertainment Center “Duman”. During the visit Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev highly appreciated activity of collective of “Duman” and expressed the idea of the complex further development. Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov likes the idea of building at his country similar oceanarium.

Day of Journalism!
Today people can not underestimate the work and contribution of journalists in public life. Mass media has the great role in everyone’s life. The profession of journalist is restless, but essential. Possessors of this profession devote themselves to their business, they try to help others, inform and objectively represent the issues.
Collective of Entertainment Center “Duman” respects the representatives of mass media, that is why at professional holiday staff of “Duman” likes to congratulate journalists personally and express their sincere thanks for cooperation.
That day at the scene of Dome area of Entertainment Center “Duman” was organized the ceremony of presentation the encouragement prizes to the following journalists:
-journalist of republic newspaper “ Kazakhstanckaya pravda” S. Nesterenko for careful report of marine aquarimistic;
- journalist of newspaper “Vecherniya Astana” E. Rafkat for patriot ground at reporting events of Entertainment Center “Duman”;
- journalist of newspaper “Astana habary” Abyoaskar Mekeshuly for universal and optimistic articles about Entertainment Center “Duman”;
- photographer of newspaper V. Kras for original photo sight on the world of Entertainment Center “Duman”;
also there were presented memorable gifts to the followings:

Day of Older Generation!
Every year at 22 of June the Entertainment Center “Duman” celebrated the Day of older generation to respect the memory of difficult war years and people whose childhood and youth fold on that severe time. This initiative belongs to the direction of Entertainment Center “Duman”. At that day the collective of “Duman” bows low and expresses its appreciation to people who did everything in their power for today’s Peace in the world.
Holiday’s air of this particular day was supported not only by high spirit of present people, but concert program with participation of veteran chorus and local music groups, contest “guess the melody of songs of distant years and war period”, participants of which took the gifts, and tea – drinking for veterans, participant of war and pensioners visited Entertainment Center “Duman” at that day. Moreover, visitors were presented gifts and pensioners could visit Oceanarium for symbolic price.

Development
of Entertainment Center “Duman”

Known, Entertainment Center “Duman” is the unique complex of entertainment for capital residents as well as for its guests. At the very beginning Entertainment Center “Duman” has the aim to turn complex into center of rest and leisure.
Every year additional entertainments are created in “Duman”. This year is not the exception. To the end of this year the attraction “Jungle” is planed to set in operation – it will be the one of the definitive objects of the capital. Interaction of “animated objects” with visitors will make the attraction particular. Decorations and sound effects will create emotional picture of real adventure.

Entertainment Center “Duman” is 4 years old!
June 9, at Saturday JSC “Entertainment Center “Duman” celebrated its birthday. There were jokes, gifts, congratulations, show-program with participation of Kazakh music stars “Percy” and “China Town” and magnificent salute. Holiday was successful!
Last year to celebration of third jubilee of Entertainment Center “Duman” was opened children’s play ground “Bobekzhay”, there were set game-playing machines and animated attractions- crying elephant and boa, also there is artificial creek with fountain. At the same year on the eve of Day of Republic was opened exhibition area “Fish of Kazakhstan”, where represented many species of Kazakh ichthyofauna. Exhibition area is consisted of four closed aquariums, their volume are 12 ton.
At the current year “Duman” made reconstruction of existing objects: bar-club “Lagoon”, café “Tornado”, tavern “Olympic”. To the end of this year they plan to open attraction “Jungle”- it will be one more unique entertainment.
At present there are developing project of global reconstruction of Entertainment Center “Duman”, it is supposed to extend Oceanarium and build new attractions of international level.
That day “Duman” not only took and presented gifts to guests, but encouraged its stuff on the following nominations: for allegiance to the company, for innovation in their work, for creative approach in solving routine questions, the most hospitable, the most effective, the most perspective, the most hard-working, the most reactive.
It should be noted that “Duman” every year holds its own record in baking holiday cake. Cake attracted attention not only but its size, its diameter is 140 cm and weight is 120 kg, but by its taste property.

African masks in “Duman”
These days in Entertainment Centre “Duman” was carried out interesting lessons of drawing.
Disabled and required in psychological support children were trained to draw by American artist-teacher Richard Amos who especially arrived from ocean to carry out that lessons in Astana.
The artist told about South- African culture and taught children the ability to express their psychological impression of the world by means of different colors, and taught new method of drawing dementional presentation. Children made image of African masks with the help of strength acrylic colour of paint and with the parts of tissue. Interesting theme and bright idea inspire children to make their own images: kind mask- sun, brave image, thoughtful, cunning, joyful and near- sad mask-there was reflected children’s emotions.
Children encounter with colour and form, light and shadow, and avant-guard technique of drawing contains essential psychotherapy effect. The ability to draw allows children to express fully their emotions and feelings on the paper, it is particularly important for disabled children and children that had life tragedy.
Charity program “Art-class for disabled children and orphan- children” is organized by Public community “Centre of social adaptation” (“CSA”), working at Oceanarium of EC “Duman”, together with culture department of USA Embassy.

…And holidays- according to the time schedule!
Holidays! It is long-waited time of all pupils. Twelve days are the rest of tests and dictations! Boys and girls think beforehand about “activity plans”- some will go to the country to the nature, and others plan to spend this golden time interesting and usefully in the city. Entertainments for metropolitan children are more than enough- they can play football on the field or go to the cinema with friends, finally they can go to the pool with the whole class. By no means, it is wonderful but joy quickly ends- rain and slush do not let you walk in the streets, and in the swimming pool- strict trainer.
But there is no limit in Entertainment Centre “Duman”- you may walk as long as your heart desires! It is ready to meet children in any day of the week, especially on holidays. Attractions, new café of fast-food “Tornado”, 3D motion-theatre, Oceanarium - they are created for good leisure, especially if you have holidays!

They usually consider that professional holidays are notable dates only for representatives of these professions and others ignore it. One of these dates becomes, for instance, Day of Trade: in spite of the fact all people, besides their occupation, are potential buyers, this holiday is usually not remarkable for them.

Nauryz Meyramy!
March is wonderful month. The numbers of holidays, in spite of frost, make us happy, we even do not manage to get used to the work after the holiday of International Women’s Day, and begin with thrill of joy to wait for new, more important holiday Nauryz Meyramy-“Birth of Spring”.
According to eastern calendar Nauryz –is the first day of New Year that coincides with vernal equinox. All Kazakhstan people consider this holiday the symbol of renewal, hope and joy.
In the old days before Nauryz people carefully arranged their houses and hearth, at holiday they planted trees. They believed if Nauryz enters the clear house of good master then he will avoid illness and unfortunate and full dastarhan will bring to the home wealth and success to the whole year. “Duman” has the same opinion. At holidays there will be music and laughter, dastarhans will be set and all Kazakhstan people who come to Entertainment Centre will get good present- 50% reduction on visiting Oceanarium.

Submarine world by pupils’ eyes
EC “Duman” begins new activity-educational.
Beginning of this month pupils of different ages can visit special optional lessons at Oceanarium EC “Duman”, where they have the possibility not only to examine closely all inhabitants of submarine world, but also to get valuable information “at first hand”.
Elders and children at the Oceanarium often ask questions about looking after those wonderful creatures-fish. What they are fed by? When they fall asleep? Could they be ill and how could they be treated? Guide is not able to give irrefragable answers for all questions. But now pupils can clear up a lot of things from sea inhabitants’ life, visiting optional lessons at Oceanarium.
Specialistes of “Duman” developed special program taking into account pupils’ different ages. Pupils shall have to learn theoretical part of fish study, supported by practical lessons; it is good that possibilities at Oceanarium are more than enough. Hier plan to devote attention not only to science practical aspect but also to moral education of pupils. For instance, program meant for pupils studying at junior forms (from 1 to 4 forms), makes special emphasis on the weakness of submarine ecosystem inviting children not only to study it but to treat it carefully. To protect “dumb animals” showing their sympathy children can only by means of world emotional perception. Pupils will be shown a lot of things that many visitors of Oceanarium can not see. To see fish feeding, to get knowledge of animals’ inhabitance and then to draw them – without shadow of a doubt, children will like it.
Program presents for pupils of senior forms repetition and practice of school materials, connecting theory and practice by work experience of "Duman". Lessons of senior pupils draw attention on animate nature, especially on domestication work (aquarium making business) because "Duman" is interested in preparing employees on the future. Perhaps, these lessons will raise interest of pupils to that business and they will chose ichthyology faculty in entering the university.

There was very interesting in “Duman” on the 8th of March at celebration International Women’s Day.
Entertainment program with participation of artistic groups of Astana city was the perfect present for all visitors. Songs, joyful dance, laughter and general fun make atmosphere easy spring.
By no means, children had fun too: they were offered to participate in different entertainment programs “Stranger in the Child’s City”, “Cheerful starts” with clowns, and to see performance “Aldar Kose helps to friends” and “Kolobok” playing by actors of puppet show «People and dolls».
Meanwhile, the most interesting event of those days in EC “Duman” became final of completion “CANDY GIRL Astana-2007” among pupils of senior grades from schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, boarding schools and child’s home of city and regions. At the Central Hall under the Dome supported by music was carried out the show of youth and beauty. Girls like spring snowdrops amazed spectators by their happy face impressions. Design and atmosphere of the hall that shined by different lights emphasized solemnity and extraordinarity of beauty and talent competition.
The winner of “CANDY GIRL Astana-2007” competition became sisters-twins Kymbat and Symbat Isaeyevy from Astana, pupils of secondary school № 32. They were presented grants for study in one of the capital institutes of higher education.
It goes without saying that time spent in EC “Duman” will remain in memory not only of young participants of that show but also of spectators and visitors of that day in Entertainment Centre.

«Art-therapy» in the heart of the ocean
The specialists of creative centre «Ocean-Art», that have been working already three years under the patronage of Entertainment Centre «Duman», have new charge children from Children’s Village «SOS Kinderdorf-Astana».
The Oceanarium of Entertainment Centre «Duman» has the good tradition: every week, on Wednesdays and Fridays, there are carried out the art lessons for children with the disabilities and for children from children’s home and orphan-asylum who are particularly in need of emotional support. Children have the opportunity to express their emotions and reproduce the visual perception impressions by means of drawing on special transparent easels which imitates aquariums. Pacified and even charm atmosphere of mega-aquarium, nearness to the mysterious world of the heart of the ocean makes children forget about all emotional experience, stresses and ailments, also it makes them feel free in spite of physical and physiological problems. Healing effect appears due to the children’s aspiration for being concerned with the world of beauty and harmony.
Such practice according to the statement of artist- psychologist and art- therapist Gulmira Tatenova is unique for all Commonwealth countries. Meanwhile, it is significant to notice that the main idea of using art-therapy for psychology adaptation of children was adopted from her practice in Moscow Zoo, where she had been worked during ten years as specialist on the base of International Children’s creative centre. She has the assistant artist- therapist Tatiana Zhaniyarova who especially came from Uralisk to work in that unique direction.
It is remarkable that holding of art lessons in the Oceanarium of Entertainment Centre «Duman» is carrying out on the base of charitability. Artists’ mark that for success of realization their innovator project in Kazakhstan they are grateful mainly to general director of Entertainment Centre «Duman» Matzhanova Patima Turalievna, and also to charitable fund «Kamkor» that support their good business.
At present time, in the «Ocean-Art» study more than forty children with the disabilities at the age from 5 to 17.
